Artist's Description of Hangings Year round hangings commissioned as a memorial gift, 1994. Significant to Oak Avenue United Chruch are the tensions and joys of an intergenerational congregation, warmth and friendliness, and a very changing community. There are two hangings in this set. In general, the left represents the community as a whole, while the right can be identified with on a more personal level. The light rays on both pieces are seen to come from the cross above in the church. On the left - a journey together, joyful and inclusive, but with a degree of tension and change as well. On the right - baptismal waters being poured out and transforming into a dove.
